All aspiring models encounter the term "test shoot." We'll talk about what this is and mainly how to prepare for it.
In one of our favorite articles about the different types of photo shoots, we've dedicated a special section to test shoots. If you are not yet familiar with them in detail, you will find everything you need to know here.
In a few words, ‘test shoots’ are among the first professional photoshoots for a model and aim to present them in a neat and stylish setting. They do not advertise anything other than the model and are not a paid commitment (for the model).
This means that in order to get ready for your first test photoshoot, you need to put in some effort a few days in advance. First, it's important to get enough sleep each night at least 3-4 days before the shoot. This is done so that your face and skin look good and you have enough energy on the day of the shoot. In addition to getting a good night's sleep, make sure to moisturize your skin well.
Get yourself in a positive mood by imagining how calm you will be on the day of the shoot and how well you will perform. It is completely unnecessary and even harmful to burden yourself with negative thoughts. Do not sabotage yourself.
Another important step is to look up photos from test photoshoots on the internet, pick some you like, and practice recreating them in front of the mirror. Spend some time with yourself to get used to your image and reduce any feelings of discomfort.
We will share a few more tips for a successful preparation and presentation of a test shoot in our next blog episode.
